Royal Niestern Sander acquired the ship newbuilding contract with Compagnie National de Navigiation in France, concerning a research vessel. This vessel has a double propeller design with two separated engine rooms. Accommodation for crew and research-staff in total approximately 110 persons, is divided over four decks. The ship will be designed and equipped in such a way that it can perform independently at sea during a long period.
