Design Rationale

Working closely together with Hartman Marine Shipbuilding BV and Hartmanseatrade, Conoship International took the challenge to design this “out of bound” vessel. The result, the fastest Multi Purpose Heavy Lift vessel in its class, was developed to reach the most technical-economical solution and the design was extensively tested. Engineering, new building and outfitting were focused on quality, effectiveness and serviceability. The obstruction free single hold with a length of 61.0m together with two board cranes with a total tandem capacity of 240t and the service speed of 18.0 kn at an engine rating below 3000kW enable the vessel to provide excellent flexibility for project cargoes all over the world. The vessel is in service since January 2007 and the operational capabilities and vessel economics have proven to be above any expectations. During the “Maritime Awards Gala” of  2007, the ‘Deo Volente’ has been awarded with the prestigious “ship of the year” prize.
